Surf Brigade Foundation | Surf Therapy Programs for Military Veterans

The Surf Brigade Foundation runs several curriculum-based surf therapy programs throughout the year, designed to meet veterans wherever they are.

We offer two types of programs to serve our veteran community:

Centralized Programs – These are intensive one-week experiences held at a centralized location such as Costa Risa. Veterans from anywhere can travel in and participate, making it easy to connect with others no matter where you're based.

Local Programs – Based in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, these five-week programs are designed for veterans in Northwest Florida who can commit to the full journey close to home.

No matter which program you join, the mission is the same: helping veterans work through three of the biggest challenges they face following military service – Purpose, Narrative, and Community. With guidance from experienced cadre members and experts, you'll dig into real conversations that help you find new perspectives and paths forward.

During the program, the ocean becomes your therapy. We provide all the surf gear you need, and whether you've never touched a surfboard or you're getting back out there, you'll experience the freedom and joy that comes with riding those waves.

Here's the deal: there's no cost to participate, but we do ask for your full commitment. Show up, stay connected with your battle buddies, and keep facing challenges together as a community. That's what makes this work.

Through Surf Brigade, you'll find more than just the thrill of surfing – you'll discover a renewed sense of purpose and a crew that has your back, helping you navigate life's waves with strength and resilience.
